Review: The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains

The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains by Nicholas Carr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An in depth overview of the fields of neurophysiology and intellectual technologies and how its impact on individual brain development and culture. The author has a negative view of the impact of Web technology and developers like Google. Has dire warnings on the human loss of deep thinking, creative thought, and loss of empathy for others because of the superficial and sensory overload of information experienced by web surfing and reading. A great introduction of the college major of symbolic systems taught at Stanford University.
