My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The book has value. At times, it does have some of the soap opera drama or reality show entertainment. Its value is in the political, social, and, ethical critique of government activity. Whether the author is sharing her experience for the historical record or self defining her image and role during the time period, she has some very interesting insights on current events and their historical context. This "Shakespearian comedy/tragedy" story would make an interesting Broadway play regarding what a member of the court saw and experienced while "living in the palace with the King."
