Review: An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States

An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The tragic story of the exploitation and genocide of Native Americans. The author as a scholar - activist tells the history of cultural and political ideologies that help to destroy the sovereignty of Native American cultures. Beginning with the first explorers, settler - rangers/military expansion to the west and ending with the twenty first century challenge for justice and repatriation of lands, the book details a history not presented in the classroom.
