My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A moving memoir of the life and criminal trial. The book alternates chapters with the voice of the mother and the father for deeper insights into the issues discussed in the book. The book does an excellent job of sharing the drama and tragedy of the events. It also gives a good analysis of the strength and weaknesses of the criminal justice system and the performance of the prosecution and defense. Lastly, it is a thought provoking book on the subject of gun violence, race, justice, and the pain of parents who have lost a child by gun violence.
