Review: The Fire Next Time

The Fire Next Time The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Published in 1963. A searing analysis of the destructive power of racism on individuals and American society. Baldwin reflects on how racism has affected his life, all blacks, and white people in the United States. He also critiques religions and notes the appeal and power of the Nation of Islam for the dispossessed masses of black people. A provocative testimonial for its time period.
