Review: The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr. The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr. by Clayborne Carson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If there was only one book you would recommend for someone to understand MLK, this is it. The book is a political and religious autobiography of MLK. It is created from the MLK papers housed at Stanford University. The book captures the drama of the Civil Rights movement and Dr. King's philosophical and emotional responses to the challenges of the time period. With skillful editing, the reader becomes part of a "you are there" experience similar to a personal conversation with Dr. King. An excellent book for the general public to understand and reflect on the past and current challenges Dr. King presents to the world in creating a more just society.
